Vintage Dress via Melrose Trading Post, Necessary Objects Blazer, Hue Tights,
As you read my blog, you'll quickly realize that I do not have a very extensive wardrobe. I would much rather have a few nicer, signature pieces than a whole closet full of different things, especially as a girl on a budget. This shirt dress was one of those great finds that feels like a total classic and therefore can be worn many different ways. Because when you don't have a lot to work with, you have to master the art of mixing and matching to create new looks.
I first wore this dress here after scooping it up from the flea market. This time around, I layered up with some tights and used black as an accent since the stiching on the bottom of the dress is black. The belt glams it up a little, and the jacket gives it a professional and clean topper.
I wore this outfit to a film premiere event held through my work. Eva Langoria directed a documentary in association with Pepsi's Yo Sumo campaign entitled Latinos Living the American Dream and a few of us went to the screening at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. I really enjoyed this documentary. The cinematography was great. They used a lot of still motion shots and captured the art of the Latino community very well. In the film we meet a few Latino Americans who have made an impact on their communities as they discuss what their culture means to them. Check it out when it airs on Mun2 this weekend.
