I love the colors of fall and since there's no really colorful trees here, there's no place better to soak in all those warm colors then at a pumpkin patch. Today, I dragged Austin out for some fresh air (he's been sick) and we walked down the street a few blocks to the pumpkin patch. It was small and on the corner of a busy street, but you still got all the feeling of a rural patch. There was a petting zoo and so many babies at what was probably their first pumpkin patch visit. It was great to see all the families out to enjoy the day. I picked up a sugar pumpkin, as I've been meaning to foray into the scary world of baking and make some pumpkin bread. I also picked up some small decorative pumpkins.

Austin snapped a couple shots of my outfit on our way over. These penny loafers are my new exciting shoes this season. I didn't want to go the oxford route but when I saw these patent leather penny loafers on one of my imaginary shopping sprees at Fred Segal, I knew that they were the flat shoes for me. My indecisive self needed to mull it over a little and by the time I was ready to buy I went back and they were gone! Just my luck. The ones I saw at Fred Segal were by Repetto and they were the special edition Michael Jackson loafer. I looked them up but couldn't find anything. I started searching ebay for vintage loafers, nothing. Finally, I took to Zappos and came across this Faryl Robin pair. They look just like the Repetto's! They've been a pain to break in, but they're so fresh, they're worth it.
I'm whipping up some pumpkin bread now and a post to go with it for tomorrow. Tune in for the recipe and pics!
