I don't have many plants in my apartment, but I always make it a point to have fresh flowers. I don't know whether it's their feminine flair that gets me or just their beauty but their presence makes me happy. I've been trying to pick different ones each time I head to the market and this week I was really drawn to these lilies, they reminded me of my mother. They were in that perfect place right before blooming at the purchase point, and when they started to bloom today they gave off the most beautiful scent.
Then at some point today, I'm looking at the lilies and I remember! Today was my parents' 23rd wedding anniversary and their wedding flowers were lilies. It was such a subconscious purchase! Isn't that crazy? I immediately called them to wish them well. Then I snapped some of these pictures. I feel like they're good desktop wallpaper pictures. If you click through, it'll take you to my flickr site and you can access the larger sizes. :)
On another note, I just heard the Madeleine Peyroux rendition of "Smile" and it's so beautiful. Take a listen. I love her jazz voice. Enjoy the rest of your evening! I'm working on a recipe post to bring you in the morning.
