So I totally failed to bring you guys an outfit shot this week. With the holidays fast approaching, work is keeping me busy and it's usually a scramble in the morning to get ready. Sarah and I tried to get some shots in the other day, but the light just didn't cooperate with us so no sharing. If ya'll are curious though, I remixed this skirt.
Meanwhile, last night I dragged the bf out to see Black Swan. I thought the film was beautiful. Though intense, it is a stunning commentary on the pressures of performance art and perfection. A remarkable portrayal of how psychologically and physically demanding the world of ballet can be, it dictates the theme that only you can stand in your way and all our power can truly come from a psychological place.
Natalie Portman's performance depicts a psychosis of a woman so intent on playing the perfect role of both the white and black swan, that in her neuroses and hallucinations, she ends up destroying herself for the sake of a role. It is truly an exceptional performance on her part.
The bf didn't care for the movie as much as I did, giving it 5 out of 10 stars and there definitely seems to be mixed reviews among audiences. But Darren Aronofsky is no doubt an artist in the realm of film, a director truly on top of his game and if you haven't already, I highly suggest you check it out.
I found these art deco inspired posters promoting the film and wanted to share them with you because they are just as lovely and unique as the film itself. They're internationally released in Europe as teasers for the film as it is not released there until February. Enjoy and happy weekend!
omg! i'm so jealous that you got to see this...i can't wait to see this film! i'm sure i'll be dragging the bf to this one lol!
