Christian Louboutin was inspired to add a red sole to his marvelous shoe creations by way of his assistant who, on that creatively blocked Louboutin day, happened to be painting her nails with Chanel's Vamp polish.

Wanting to add that extra "oomph" to his designs, Louboutin started painting the sole with the polish and voilĂ , a trademark was born.
Now I may not be on my way to inspire a shoe god but i too often find myself painting my nails at the office, imagining i'm some french assistant from another decade. With eight hours of sitting in the day, the least a girl can do is get her mani right. These are the polishes and colors i'm coveting right now.
OPI's Barefoot in Barcelona
Looks like I dipped my fingers in sparkling sand. Shoutout to Kiki with this one.

Chanel's Jade
The most subtle and stunning shade of mint. Looks just like mint ice cream, yum.

MAC's Cool Reserve
Saw this on one of their makeup artists and fell. Such a chic and edgy but totally crisp color. It's a nice blend of gray and lavender and it goes on a little more gray than you see here.
val and I used that dark purple polish you had at your desk and I absolutely LOVE it. so pretty
